Where We Invest

In order for future companies in search of assistance and smart funding to better get an understanding of what we are searching for, we have summarized a list.
We call it our 6 C's:

Commitment/Grit - Are the founders and people involved prepared to go the distance?
Competence – Does the company have the competence to reach their aim?
Capital - Will the founders be able to raise the necessary capital to reach their aim, without losing incentives themselves?
Customer-Centric - Does the product or service solve a real problem or meet a real demand?
Competition/Uniqueness - Is the product or service easily copied? How great is the competition and future pricing power?
Co-Investors - An investor can help make or break a company, therefore we try to be cautious about who we invest with.

As you see, a lot of focus is put on the founders and this is because it is our experience that ideas are cheap and execution is everything. Average ideas with great execution, are still often great businesses. Great ideas with average execution often turn into bad businesses. It is more important to stick with it and focus on making the business great than to constantly try to find a new business idea every time things get hard. Each time you solve a difficult part of a business, the business becomes more and more unique and difficult to copy. In the hardship, value is created.

With an economist, techie, and digital native as CEO, this has been a given area to invest in. The fact is that most customers around the globe are stuck with the old type of banking with a bad login and user experience, slow processes and little transparency, whilst the rest of the world has progressed tremendously through adoption of the latest technologies. This industry needs to be revolutionized. Transparency, security, availability, agile solutions, and cost efficiency will be key and companies who are able to provide solutions in these areas spike our interest.

Family, health, and adventure are keystones to our culture and interests, which is also why we love to look at companies in this sector. Preferably, products and services which we would use ourself in our daily lives.
